CONTEST 2001 NOTICE
OF RACE WINDSURFING
EURO-CUP
Date: The
Windsurfing Euro-Cup in Cagliari (Italy) will take place from May 29th
to June 2nd,2001. Organization: The
event is organized by Associazione Idea Mare Sport e Spettacolo in
co-operation with the Windsurfing Club Cagliari. Status: The
Windsurfing Euro-Cup Cagliari is an official event of the Windsurfing
Euro Cup. The regatta is recognized by the IWA and FWC. The competitors
will receive points for the official Euro-Cup ranking list. Rules: The
regatta is governed by:
Disciplines: The
discipline is Formula Windsurfing. Funrace: If
the condition will be favourable, a Free-Style contest will contend, not
valid for prizemoney. Place: The
event is organized on the POETTO beach, near the Windsurfing Club
Cagliari, viale Marina Piccola. Conditions: The
main wind is mistral, 8/25 knots for 280 days of the year. The average
air temperature in May is around 24°C.
The water is about 19°C.
Wetsuits are strongly recommended. Program: Tuesday,

meeting (10:00), Racing (10:30-15:30), Prizes and Closing Ceremony,

Travel/Transportation: Cagliari
can be reached easily by ferry from Civitavecchia, or from Genova to
Porto Torres, Sardinia, then by car to Cagliari. The nearly airport is
Elmas, 18 Km from loacation. There
will be signs in Cagliari to guide you directly to the event location. Socials: Competitors
receive two warm meals.
Entrance to Event Parties is free for all competitors. Drug
Testing: Drug
testing may take place during the event. Prizes: Successful
competitors will win trophies. Competitors will receive points for the
official Euro-Cup ranking list. In,
addition, there is a prize money fund of 30.000.000 Italian lire that
will be divided according to the Windsurfing Euro-Cup General Rules. Entry: Competitors
can enter by faxing or mailing the official entry form to the entry
address or by using the online entry form on the Windsurfing Euro-Cup
website www.euro-cup.org. Deadline
of the entry fee of 130.000 Italian lire is May 10th.The fee
for a late entry is 50%. The
maximum number of competitors is limited to 150. Apply early to get a

entry fee of 130.000 Italian lire can be paid by bank transfer to the
above account or in cash. Junior competitors (under 22) get a 50%
discount. On site and late payments will be surcharged a late entry fee

circumstances, for any damage, loss or injury either ashore or on the
water either to persons or equipment, which may result. Participation in
this event, supporting events and in each race in them is at the sole
discretion of the sailor and at his/her own risk. By
transferring the entry application the competitor accepts the entry
conditions without exceptions.
